The New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Fifth Avenue may be world famous, but The Bronx is the best place to celebrate the holiday. Not only are there events on St. Patrick’s Day, which is a Monday this year, there are events all month long. For those of us who can’t get enough of Guinness and a good time, The Bronx is the place to be during the month of March. Keep reading to learn more.

Shortest Parade Party with John Walsh & Friends at An Beal Bocht
March 17 at 7 pm
This annual tradition at An Beal Bocht in Riverdale was written about in the New York Times in 2014 for its amusing nature. Eleven years later, it’s just as amusing. This year, guitarist John Walsh will perform as the 47-foot parade takes place.
An Beal Bocht also hosts Irish trad sessions every Sunday night from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. If you’re looking for a quirky Irish pub to relax, have a pint and enjoy some Irish tunes, this is the place.
Drink Special at Rory Dolan’s
March 17
You certainly don’t want to miss a drink special on St. Patrick’s Day. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on the holiday itself, March 17, at Rory Dolan’s, where they will have drinks, food, music and dancing.
McLean Avenue Parade
March 22 at 1 pm
The McLean Avenue parade is technically in Yonkers, but since it includes the Woodlawn area, we’re claiming it as a Bronx event. The parade starts at Hyatt and McLean Avenyes, and ends at McLean Avenye and McCollum Place by Coyne Park. You can stand anywhere on McLean Avenue to enjoy the parade. During or after, stop by one of the great Irish pubs on McLean or Katonah Avenue. Irish American folk band The Narrowbacks will be performing at Rory Dolan’s at this time, and Celtic group Shilelagh Law will perform at Rambling House.
